Hello! Welcome to the new online home of Irwell Vale and Lumb.
We belong to Irwell Vale and Lumb Residents' Association and work with residents and many organisations to help our community and environment.
This website will be updated with information about our activities, what the local area looks like and information on walks and events. There are a number of events in the village, particularly the East Lancashire Railway War Weekend, fund raising events in the Methodist Church including a Christmas Service and Carol Singing, a Harvest Festival and evening activities.
We also with Rossendale Borough Council, Lancashire County Council and the local Police Neighbourhood Watch. We are represented at the local Police Partners and Communities Together, the Neighbourhood Forum and contribute to the local strategic plan.
The Residents' Association became a Neighbourhood Watch last year and is well supported by the Local Community Police Officers who are seen in the village on a regular basis.
Our logo is based on the fact that we have three private and unadopted bridges in the village. The Ogden, Irwell and Lumb bridges date back to the 18th. Century and are a credit to those who built them but nevertheless the bridges have suffered the effect of time and are in need of repair on a major scale.
